I LOVE NASHVILLE!!!  I just had to tell you that.

I am blown away by the vegan community here.  Restaurants and food trucks offering vegan goods galore!  A few weekends ago my friends Courtney, Esther (both non vegans) and I went to The Southern V.  It is a vegan bakery and cafe.  It is in a little blue building that will miss if you are not looking for it.  But you really should look for it.

They are open on Saturday and Sunday only.  The menu is different every weekend, so I would suggest following them on Instagram to be up to date.  This particular weekend the offered Barbecue Pulled Jackfruit in two varieties.  Nachos or sliders.  I ordered the Barbecue Pulled Jack-fruit Nachos, Mango Nice Cream and an alkaline water.  Alkaline Water!!!  That just made me happy.

The nachos came with round tortilla chips, lots of well seasoned and delicious barbecue jackfruit, tomatoes, red onions, cheeze sauce, black olives, cashew cream and sriracha.  This was my time having jackfruit.

Barbecue Pulled Jackfruit Slider with creamy Cole Slaw from The Southern V

The slider came with a super soft bun that will mind of a King’s Hawaiian roll.  The cole slaw is delicious and creamy.  They were my favorite!

I also had a taste of peach cobbler.  I don’t love cooked fruit even though this was quite tasty.  I ordered mango nice cream and that was awesome and I ate the entire thing.  It was flavorful and smooth.  I am going to try and recreate that one.

We got to sit outside where we met some new friends.  It really was a great experience.  I highly suggest giving The Southern V a try.
