Whenever I tell someone I am vegan, they always go into how they could never do that and how restrictive the lifestyle is. “Where do you get your protein?” “How do you get your calcium?” “Be careful of your Vitamin D level.” Oddly enough, I have said the same thing to other people before I became vegan, But now I know veganism is about abundance, wander and compassion. I love being vegan! This blog and my YouTube channel are to show everyone my journey. I want other people to see that if I can do it anyone can do it. I live in Memphis, Tn where barbecue pig reigns supreme. You can do this. Let me share with you some foods I never purchased or ate before going vegan.

Kombucha is an acquired taste. GT’s is my favorite brand. I love Kombucha simply based on how my stomach feels. My digestion system has been much better by having 1/2 bottle of Kombucha per day.

Chia seeds have lots of fiber and protein. You can also use them to make vegan egg replacers. I like to mix them with plant based yogurts to create chia pudding. I also sprinkle them on top of smoothies a lot.

Gogi berries are antioxidant and have been known to lessen arthritis pain. I think they taste like unsweetened raisins. I like to add them to smoothie bowls and sometimes in my salads.

I am not a chocolate lover, but I am a cacao powder lover for sure!! It is an excellent source of monounstatuated fats and is cholesterol free. I like to drink it in plant based milk as a “hot chocolate” night cap, but also in other recipes.

My love of curry powder was discovered here on my blog. I have been using it continuously ever since. It is a cancer preventer, protects against heart disease and eases pain and inflammation. And I love it!!
A plant based/vegan lifestyle is about abundance! Just look at all of the beautiful discoveries I have made over the last two years. Even if you don’t want to go vegan, please add some of these items to your diet. You will not regret it!
